About Us

WELCOME

The Brisbane Combined Unions Choir has been singing since 1988 to raise awareness of issues of importance to working people. Our members share a belief in union values and social justice.

The Unions Choir is a self-funded community group organised by the members. The Choir rehearses every Thursday Evening 6:30 to 8:30pm at the QCU building, 16 Peel Street, South Brisbane.

A movement that sings will never die!

OUR AIMS

  • To promote solidarity between working people, the union movement and other groups to contribute to social change and advance worker rights, peace, and social and environmental justice
  • To provide opportunities for active and retired unionists and their supporters to express themselves in song and theatre
  • To raise awareness of, and celebrate, victories and struggles of importance to working people within diverse communities
  • To model a commitment to democratic principles, collaborative practice, human rights and social justice within the choir itself
