Members Information Sheet

Question:  Thinking of joining or rejoining the choir, but where is the choir now?

Answer:     Only a few clicks away!

We miss getting together, hugs, and dinner parties, travelling where we want.  Many of us are doing much more from home, reading, gardening, phoning, sorting, art and craft, cooking and cleaning. But we still want that connection, still want to sing together. And here is how we are doing it from a distance.

The choir usually meets at Queensland Council of Unions, on Thursday evenings at 6.30 pm.  Now we meet at the same time using Zoom for rehearsals.

We even plan a virtual performance, as soon as we can get our act together!

We send a weekly newsletter, sharing stories, jokes, tips and messages to keep the connection going.  If you want to follow the choir send an email to Patricia Hovey:  patriciah10@bigpond.com  or Mary Slivka: mpslivka@bigpond.net.au

The choir is open to any union member without audition.  Still true, but now members need to have access to Zoom technology (a computer with camera or a smart phone) to sing with us virtually.  Contact  Ric Adams: riadams76@gmail.com  or Peter Cooper: spcooper@outlook.com.au   and we will support you to get started, or restart your membership in the Brisbane Combined Unions Choir.

We still manage the choir through a committee, and we don’t pass the bucket at rehearsals.   Our membership is $70 per quarter.
